Egypt, France and Ethiopia will hold a three-day meeting on July 1 to tackle the latest developments regarding Ethiopia's Grand Renaissance Dam, Water Resources and Irrigation Minister Hossam Moghazy said.
A joint technical offer from A French firm on the dam will be received on June 22, Moghazy said during a tour of Mahmoudia Canal on Thursday with Alexandria Governor Hany el Mesery.
A celebration will take place on July 11 to be attended by the irrigation ministers of Egypt, Ethiopia and Sudan for signing the contract, while the actual start of the technical studies will be within 8 months, he said.
Egypt believes in Ethiopia's right to generate electricity but without harming the interests of Egypt and Sudan, the minister said.
