Director General of Sabah Al Ahmed Center for Giftedness and Creativity (SACGC) Omar Al-Banai said Monday Kuwait in on the track for becoming an advanced country technically and in terms of production.
"The country relies on the creativity of its talented sons, notably those taking part in the Seventh Edition of the International Exhibition of Inventions of the Middle East," he told reporters on the eve of the fair.
The fair, to take place on December 2-5, is being organized under the kind patronage of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and in partnership with the International Exhibition of Inventions in Geneva, Switzerland.
"Inventions, scientific achievements and human development are among the basic criterions that gauge the progress of countries.
"SACGC participation in the fair is part of our activities in promoting the culture of creativity and innovation," Al-Banai said, noting that 14 Kuwaiti inventors from SACGC are taking part in the event which is the highest number.
He noted that the Center was established by Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Sciences (KFAS) in 2010 under an initiative by His Highness the Amir to discover and sponsor talented Kuwaitis through moral and material support.
He added that the Center aims to create an environment that could contribute to the excellence of creative talented individuals and provide them with an opportunity to contribute to development as per international standards.
"The Center also helps the Kuwaiti inventors take out patents and market their inventions locally and internationally through the empowerment of the talented human cadre and investment in their distinctive innovations," Al-Banai went on.
On the fair he said it is meant to open new horizons for inventors and establish channels of contacts between them and investors who could sponsor their inventions, thus encouraging the talented youths.
The Center, as member of the membership of the Geneva-based International Federation of Inventors' Associations (IFIA), participates in five annual international specialized fairs; these are the Geneva, Seoul (South Korea), Iena (Germany) and Inpex (US) exhibitions.
