Civil Aviation Minister Hossam Kamal said on Saturday that EgyptAir flight schedule was not affected when 224 pilots threatened collective resignation.
About 89 pilots have started a leave without pay to improve their income, the minister told reporters.
The EgyptAir's pilots receive only 50 percent of salaries their peers have in neighboring countries, he said.
"The ministry has helped pilots improve their income out of its moral commitment," he added, ruling out political motive behind the group resignation.
The measures adopted by the ministry to improve pilots' income included replacing foreign pilots with Egyptians to create vacancies, he added.
