Sources revealed that Lebanese singer George Wasoof expressed his astonishment over what was published about his exclusion from participation in the festival "Live Ashrafieh" scheduled to be held in the Lebanese capital of Beirut due to his Syrian citizenship and his previous songs for President Bashar Al Assad.
The sources added that the Lebanese singer has not received any invitation to participate in the festival, stressing his cordial relations with the residents of this area. They stressed that such rumors aim to smear the image of the Lebanese singer before his fans
A number of media channels and newspapers published news that the Lebanese singer was prevented from singing in the festival upon orders from Lebanon’s former Minister of Information Nicola Sahnawy due to his Syrian citizenship and his previous songs to support President Bashar Al Assad
