Egyptian actress Sherry Adel told ‘Arabstoday’ she is very worried to work with Mhmoud Abdel Aziz, the Egyptian star famous for acting in the TV series “Bab El-Khalk.” Of course though, she didn’t hesitate when the director Abdel Adeb asked her to be in the series, offering her a main role. While being quite secret about “Bab El-Khalk”, Sherry talked extensively about her role, Dalia, the daughter of a strong businesswoman and head of political party towards whom she is very critical. The actress also talked about “Amn Dwalt”, her last movie now being screened in cinemas where she co-starred with Egyptian singer Hamada Helal. “It was an exciting challenge for me and it gave me the chance to discover a new character, as I played a psychiatrist in a children school,” she said. She added that she was pleased to work with Helal, who she discovered to be a wonderful and nice man. Although she usually plays main characters, Ms. Adel said she doesn’t care too much about leading roles, as long as they are effective and good. About ‘Amn Dawlt’ she also said: “I am very happy and proud to work with Akram Farid, and Hamada Helal.” About ‘Citizen X’, another film that was screened in Ramadan 2011, Sherry confirmed that all feedback was positive, pointing out that there was no space for jealousy among the crew, which included Amr Youssef, Amir Karara and Arwa Gouda and the director Othman Abu Laban. Finally, she said she thinks that, at least in Egypt, leading female roles in movies were not as successful as males’ and that she actually prefers to co-star in a big movie instead of starring in a small one.
