Egyptian actor Saeed Saleh has denied rumors that well-known comedian Adel Imam offered bribes to keep him out of jail on a charge of textual errors in the play “The Game Called Money.” “According to a rumor, Imam went to a lawyer with a bagful of money in order to bail me out of jail,” said Saleh. “Even if we assume that Imam wanted to save me, would he do it in this stupid way?” Saleh pointed out that he has been in jail three times before without Imam bailing him out. He also wondered why the rumormongers have kept quiet until now. “Imam is my friend and he will never think of such ways,” he said. “He is a man who abides by the law and stands by his friends but without resorting to devious ways.” Sayidaty magazine reported this in its April 30 issue.
