Singing star Bascal Meshaalani has told Arabstoday that she is very happy with her recent collaboration with Lebanese singer and composer Marwan Khoury. Bascal described Marwan as a star who has broken ot of the Arab mainstream, saying: "Marawan is gifted with a special talent and morals, he always inspires me with hope and optimism." Bascal declared she had already started recording the song, though she is yet to decide on the styling for the video, not ruling out the possibilty of Claud Khouri (Marwan's brother) directing it. The star still says she prefers to indulge in her own signature music rather than follow what's popular, as she believes that's what attracts her audience. Bascal also criticised the recent trend of of being "too bold", saying some singers thought it was a quick route to fame. "We must acknowledge the difference between real singers and fashion models," she quipped.
