Egytian superstar Amr Diab has donated $100,000 to the victims of Port Said Stadium massacre. He also sponsored a blood donation campaign for the victims starting next Monday. Diab decided not to go to the memorial held for the victims in Ahly sporting club, fearing clashes with families and friends of the victims because of his Port Said origins. This is not Diab's first contribution to humanitarian causes. He had paid donations to the victims of the Aswan floods, three years ago. About 130 people were killed in addition to 1000 injuries in the Port Said Stadium massacre last Wednesday, in a match which was held between two Egyptian teams, Al-Ahly and Al-Masry at Port Said Stadium. In other news, the Egyptian singer refused an offer from Kuwaiti poet Abdul Qadir Al-Hadhoud to turn one of his poems into a song. Diab liked the poem but wanted it to be turned into the Egyptian Arabic dialect, something the poet refused insisting it stay in the Kuwaiti dialect.
