Algerian Kabyle music star Takfarinas gave a concert Thursday in Algiers amid a highly charged atmosphere, as he drew a large audience who highly appreciated the talent of the artist with a double neck guitar.
As soon as the evening kicked off, the artist showed an outstanding dynamism at El Hadi Flici theatre, beginning with "Azul," a piece in which he wished welcome to his audience.
"You are part of my family," he told his fans that came from Tizi-Ouzou and Bejaia, in addition to Algiers.
Performing his songs in chaabi and oriental style, with modern arrangements and combined rhythms, the artist showed much deepness in his musical and poetic research.
Born in 1958 in Tixraine, Algiers, Takfarinas has grown up under the influence of traditional tunes and western popular music and the Anglo-Saxon music.
In 1994, he immigrated to France, where he discovered new tones and colors which he adopts in a style with a genuine content.
