Miranda Lambert was forced to cancel a major concert appearance this week.
The 31-year-old singer will not perform at Calgary Stampede as planned due to vocal cord inflammation. Lambert announced the news on social media ahead of the concert's Thursday date.
"I'm so sorry that I can't be at Stampede this week, but I'll be back in Calgary just as soon as I can for all of my Stampede fans," she said on her website. The performance will be rescheduled on a yet-to-be-determined date.
"I can't believe this is happening," she later added. "I am sure most of you heard the news about the show in Calgary having to be rescheduled due to my vocal issues. Thanks for all your posts and well wishes, I promise I will do everything to get better quickly!"
Lambert came to fame on USA Network series Nashville Star, and subsequently released her first album, Kerosene. She has since won six consecutive ACM awards for Top Female Vocalist, and debuted a lyric video for "Smokin' and Drinkin'" in June.
