Last Vegas singer and entertainer Michaelina Bellamy, a former principal singer in "Folies Bergere" at the Tropicana, has died of cancer, her daughter said. Bellamy, who also toured as a backup vocalist for performers like Engelbert Humberdinck, died Saturday of acute myeloid leukemia, an announcement on the Facebook page of her daughter, Las Vegas freelance writer Maria Kintner, said. She was 59. Bellamy joined the Air Force at age 18 and was a vocalist with the Airmen of Note, performing in Vietnam on a USO Tour with Bob Hope in 1970. She appeared in "Folies Bergere" for a decade ending in 1990, and also appeared at the Sahara and the Stratosphere, the Las Vegas Sun reported. Most recently Bellamy assembled the big bands appearing at the Tropicana. She is survived by three daughters, Andreanna, Maria and Jackie, and four grandchildren, the Sun reported.
