As many as 52 films from 22 countries will be screened in the Kathmandu International Mountain Film Festival (KIMFF) this year, local media reported on Tuesday.KIMFF will be held from Dec. 8 to Dec. 12 at the Rastriya Sabha Griha and Nepal Tourism Board Auditorium, according to the organizer, the Himal Association.A total of 17 films are included in the international competition, 21 in international non-competitive section and six are under Nepal panorama. KIMFF 2011 will also feature a special section of shorts films from the northern Europe's biggest film festival, the Tampere Film Festival."The films- documentaries, fiction, animation and shorts, cover a wide variety of subjects including culture, climbing, migration, human rights, biodiversity, environment, globalization, gender and lifestyle," states a press release issued by the organizer.KIMFF will also feature satellite events on scriptwriting, alternative book exhibition, photo exhibition, panel discussion and talks, according to Republica daily.
