The stage musical "Jersey Boys" is to make its South African premiere in April, producers said Thursday. The show is currently playing in New York, Las Vegas, London, Auckland and Brisbane, and has been seen by more than 14 million people worldwide. It will premiere at the Teatro at South Africa's Montecasino April 3, then open at Artscape in Cape Town June 19, producers said. The show has been a huge success since it debuted on Broadway in 2005 and in London's West End in 2008. The musical is based on the true story of the formation of the 1960s New Jersey vocal group Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons, and includes their hits "Sherry," "Walk like a Man," "Big Girls Don't Cry," "Oh What a Night!" and "Beggin'.
