Jason Aldean wins big at country awards

Jason Aldean has won six prizes at this year's American Country Awards, including artist of the year.He also picked up record of the year for My Kinda Party at the annual event and best touring artist, saying it was getting "a little ridiculous".Carrie Underwood picked up three prizes, including female artist of the year and female single of the year for Mama's Song. The awards, in just their second year, are voted for by country music fans.Aldean said: "This is getting a little ridiculous now. I don't know what else to say. It's been a crazy year."Emerging country artists were the focus for much of the evening - American Idol winner, Scott McCreery, was named new artist of the year.Husband and wife duo, Shawna and Kiefer Thompson won group single, new artist single and new artist video for their track, Are You Going To Kiss Me Or Not?But there was also room for more established artists, including Lady Antebellum, who won group of the year for the second time.
